This year sees the publication of the first ever guide exclusively devoted to the rock and ice climbing in Dumfries and Galloway by the Scottish Mountaineering Club. Andrew Fraser, one of the co-authors, with over 50 years of experience of climbing in the area takes us into the wilder parts of the region, reflects on Dumfries and Galloway’s climbing history, the epics and characters and the factors which make climbing in the area so unique.
